Having confidence has never been my strong suit. I think that is why I have always been drawn to lions and tigers. They seem so sure of themselves. This piece was inspired by one of my favorite quotes, "The devil whispers, "You can't withstand the storm!" and the warrior replies, "I AM THE STORM."" Reminding me that I can do hard things no matter what anyone else might think or say. The male lion represents the evil & negativity of this world that is trying to take away our confidence. He's big and loud and surrounded by fire. The female lion is smaller, but only because she doesn't need the over dramatic theatrics. She is steady, strong, resilient and full of heart. Her bravery far outweighs what the world (the male lion) feels she lacks. She is calm but firm. She stands her ground and doesn't allow him to overpower her. She is royalty. Her words have power and her faith is in something greater than herself. She is a WARRIOR.
