Like many artists, my work is very personal. For most of my life I didn't feel like I had a voice and when I did there was no one around to hear it or no one interested in listening. Creativity helped me express the feelings I was taught to bottle up inside. It helped me release fear, anxiety, anger, pain and on rare occasions joy. It helped me heal.
Until now, I haven’t shared my art with the world. I was afraid for anyone to see the authentic version of me. I was afraid my pain and darkness would scare them away. But I know now, after learning several tools from my recovery programs, that “you cannot heal what you cannot feel.”
In the past my creativity was an outlet to help me survive. But today my creativity allows me to heal. I feel it is important for artists to share their pain in order to give others permission to do the same; which will help them start their own healing process as well.
There is so much beauty to be found in the things we fear. The broken parts of us do not need to be put back together but used to reinvent ourselves into something even more beautiful than was there before.
I believe that the eyes tell stories. If you look hard enough you can see the broken glass within the lens, the shattered pieces living within a beautiful vessel. The colors, the tears, the makeup, the shadows, the depth- they all tell parts of our story. How we came to be who we are today.
I pray my art speaks to you and awakens a healing journey within your heart that allows you to discover who you were divinely created to be. As George Eliot said, "Its never too late to be what you might have been."

I find inspiration in people, places, things, nature, etc. Frequently, I find the most beauty in things people feel are lost, broken or forgotten or of no use. My techniques simply come from my emotions, although I have taken many art classes and have been painting and drawing since I was very young, I am not classically trained in any specific creative techniques other than jewelry fabrication and design. When it comes to my art I use whatever material and medium feels right for the piece and accurately depicts the emotions I am feeling as I create it. The 3 most significant highlights of my life are my children. They inspire me to be myself everyday without hesitation or apology. I feel blessed to be able to do what I love and show them that it is never too late to follow your dreams or become who you were divinely created to be. I have great confidence that as my artistic career continues this highlight reel will grow, but for now the biggest blessings are the relationships I am making, healing and strengthening as I create pieces of art that bring me joy and serenity.
